The only way to detect Radon in your home is to test!  While your next door neighbor's house my have low radon levels your home could have higher levels. Every home is different.

A short-term test is easy, safe and only takes 48 hours.

Testing for a homeowner's information requires one* charcoal test kit - placed in the lowest lived-in level of the home. For a real-estate transaction, two short-term charcoal test devices are placed side-by-side, deployed in the lowest level suitable for occupancy in the home.  After a 48-hour period, the test(s) is sent to an independent lab for analysis. Test results are usually available in about a week. The lab will provide a full test report and recommendations on further action. It will be mailed or e-mailed to you.

     *Western Radon recommends always placing two side-by-side short-term test kits to assure precision, similar to a real estate test.
